As one of the most popular homeopathic treatments that we encourage our clients to do at Sterling Aesthetics, body brushing is not only stimulating, but it’s relaxing as well. So, what exactly is body brushing and how can you do it on your own? Read on to learn more.

The Basics of Brushing

The unique thing about body brushing is that it supports a variety of different health issues including digestion, the appearance of cellulite, circulation, the stimulation of lymph nodes, and the ability for your body to remove waste.

Now that you know the powerful benefits of body brushing let’s discuss how you can do it from the comforts of your own home.

  • Step 1: Lubricate the skin: Whether you prefer to use your body brush before or right after the shower, make sure that you lubricate either your skin or the brush with an all-natural body oil.
  • Step 2: Start brushing at your feet and slowly work upwards towards the heart— this will help with the lymph nodes and encourage the system to drain properly. Similarly, once you reach your arms,  brush upwards while applying only a small amount of pressure.
  • Step 3: Brush the chest just over the heart by brushing in a circular motion— this will help increase blood circulation.

Repeat this every day for about 3-5 minutes.

Body brushing is a basic way that you can take better care of your overall health while also helping to improve things like the appearance of cellulite.
