When is Too Young to Get Botox?

BotoxWith celebrities like the Jenners and Kardashians filling up tabloids and fashion magazines everywhere, more and more young girls are wanting to get Botox. As an injectable that used to only be popular among women in their 40’s and older, many people are asking the question, “When is too young to get Botox?” Read on to learn more.

Wait Until You Are At Least 18

Kylie Jenner may have been 16 or 17 when she started receiving Botox injections on her forehead, around her eyes, and even on her upper lip but most people should wait until they are at least 18 until they start receiving injections. In fact, unless you have parental consent, you likely won’t be able to get Botox injections at all. And although 18 is still considered to be too young by many groups of people, it is still the age where you are legally deemed an adult which accounts for something.

Remember It’s Temporary

One of the most important things to remember when considering whether or not you are too young to get Botox is the fact that it is temporary. Because many of the decisions that people make when they are in their teens are considered to be “regrettable”, choosing a temporary filler definitely has its benefits. Typically only lasting anywhere from three to six months, Botox will quickly fade and your natural appearance will be back to normal.

Preventative?

Because Botox hasn’t been on the plastic surgery market for very long, it’s hard to decipher whether or not it is preventative or not. As one of the main reasons that young people are opting to get Botox at a young age, prevention isn’t such a bad thing to consider. After all, if you can prevent having to get surgery or other things later on, you might as well do it.
